NATIONS
The Kingdom of Farsia
A multiethnic empire whose people worship the Celestial Ones and study the mysteries of Casting through temples. The King of Farsia is an absolute monarch, supported by seven Satraps who govern the seven Satrapies, and fifty Vazirs who govern the smaller provinces within the Satrapies.
The Hellenic States
A fragile alliance of Hellenic city-states located on the islands west of Farsia. In times of crisis, the city-states elect a Hegemon who has the mandate to lead the states against a sufficiently threatening foe. At the time of Eskandar's conquests, the Hellenic States are dominated by the kingdom of Makedonia and are forced to elect King Eskandar of Makedonia as the Hegemon.
The Kingdom of Makedonia
A kingdom north of the Hellenic States with many Hellenic influences. Makedonia is often considered barbaric by its southern neighbors, due to Makedonia's proximity to Skythia. Under King Philippos, father of King Eskandar, Makedonia defeated and united the Hellenic States. The Makedonian king is guarded by a cadre of elite, intensely loyal soldiers, known as his Companions.
The Karganate of Skythia
The confederation of Skythian tribes and people united under the authority of the Kargan. Skythians fight with horse and bow. Most tribes are nomadic but many do have villages and winter retreats.
The Land of the Zhou
A kingdom located northeast of Farsia. Silk traders travel through Farsia to bring their wares west. No diplomatic ties exist between the Farsian King and the Zhou Emperor, so knowledge is exchanged through commerce alone.
The Empire of the Nanda
A nation east of Farsia in the land of Hindusia. The Nanda Empire is at peace with the Kingdom of Farsia.
